In highschool, I used QuarkXpress for laying out projects and took courses in computer arts. I’ve taken college level courses in digital design as well. I spent 5 years at Katasoho printing and design, and 4 years at Biboss. Over those 9 years, I developed a strong grasp of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite of programs. I learned to operate Heidelberg offset printing presses as well as Xerox digital presses, Stahl folding and collating machines, and Roland plotting machines among others. During my time at the printshop of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, I also gained a working knowledge of the Oracle system used in the membership department. There I also gained experience operating a Konica-Minolta full colour digital press, as well as Pitney-Bowes and Neopost postage metering machines. Upon my return to Montréal, I worked again at Katasoho temporarily. Over the years, my work has required developing hundreds of posters, flyers, banners, and merchandise for different events; all on a tight deadline. It has meant needing to ensure the design is properly prepared for printing based on the limitations of the specific process chosen and the specific machines involved. All of my experience has also required great problem-solving skills with computers and presses and being able to learn new software and machines rapidly. hide
