Logo Design Brief
Now in its tenth year, the Walnut Creek Reads program encourages both book lovers and occasional readers from all parts of the community to read the same book over the summer and to then participate in a series of community events in September and October that celebrate the book.
Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Library Foundation and the Contra Costa County Library, it was inspired by similar programs offered across the United States in cities large and small. Walnut Creek is a community of 65,000 people in the San Francisco Bay Area that is located at the foot of Mount Diablo, an iconic image in our daily horizon.
To celebrate the program’s tenth anniversary, the One City One Book committee is seeking to refresh the program logo. The updated logo should be bold, fresh, contemporary, forward-thinking, and energetic.
We would like to simplify the name to One City One Book Walnut Creek.
We want to maintain the purple and green colors.
We want to change the logo shape and avoid the strong vertical, book-cover shape.
The current logo and colors are attached along with a file containing sample logos from other One City One Book programs and logos that see in Walnut Creek.
