Logo Design Brief

We need a dimensionally pretty square logo for a new Junior A (age under 20) amateur men's ice hockey team, the Seattle Ravens. The logo will be used for embroidery or dye patch on the crest of the jersey, embroidered on team jackets and hats, printed on t-shirts, warmup tracksuits, hoodies, websites, and printed materials. The team plays in the NPHL. The jerseys will be a simple striping pattern like the NHL Detroit Red Wings or Chicago Blackhawks. My own concept is for black home jersey and white road, with trim as the LA Kings or the Boston Bruins, however anything but red/orange would be interesting to see. Seattle is the home to green sports teams already, however. I like the following NHL logos: LA Kings (I have fooled around with Paint program to put SEA for LA and a raven clip art image for the crown), Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, Tampa Lightning, NY Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins. I like traditional ice hockey logos. My favorite team is the Colorado Avalanche. I do not like cartoon mascots holding hockey sticks. I like the idea of the Raven looking straight on to the viewer, but am not wed to it. The bird should have a burning intensity, eyes are important, but not squawking open-mouthed. Do not want goth evil, Celtic, or pacific native art logo. Think ornithologically correct-ish. Do not prefer anthropomorphic. Also need a name block type logo included.
