A Social Worker & Diabetes Educator with over 28 years experience, Helen is the founder of a national online counselling service www.diabetescounselling.com.au which she started in 2001 when the internet was yet a baby. She has worked in the online space ever since and was an early adopter of social media. Helen has created strong communities online across her diabetes and interiors brands, and is an expert in content creation & social media. She understands how to harness the good in social media and utilise this to support and work with your clients and customers. Helen has managed a small team on Facebook for many years who have helped thousands of people living with diabetes. She really understands the "social" part of the social media picture and the ways that this must be strongly interwoven with the "media" component.Helen is half way through her PhD looking at the experiences of pregnancy for women with type 1 diabetes who have accessed her online services and is developing even more knowledge around why people seek help around their health and wellbeing on the internet. She has over 15 years experience in content development and social media and offers a consultancy in content creation & social media management, in particular for medical,health and not for profit agencies, government, universities, interiors and lifestyle brands.
