Logo Design Brief

My brother and I started a real estate investment company about 5 years ago. The company has grown over the years and we just recently coined it "Joseph Companies". We are now looking to have a logo designed which will be the platform for our website, property signs, business cards, etc.

Our family has been in the real estate investment business in Austin, TX for over 115 years. With that being said, our Father suggested that we use the tag line "from father to son for over 115 years". We would like to incorporate this tag line into one version of the logo and have an additional version that does not include it.

Furthermore, we would like one additional variable component. Our company does various tasks, property management, sales, leasing, & development. We would like to be able to use the Joseph Companies logo and modularly place "development division", "sales division" or any applicable division in a templated area which will make it an interchangeable part of the logo. If your professional opinion believe that having both the tag line and the division info is too much, we can make the logo so that it is one or the other. For example, if we're using a version that incorporates the tag line, we cannot use the division, and vis versa.

Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding the project. Upon choosing a winner and sending payment, we would like to receive all fonts used and any details that would be necessary to make logo modifications in the future.

Target Market(s)

The logo will be used for signs, business cards, web presence, and comparable applications. The reason for the logo is not necessarily to capture a particular audience, but to represent our brand and give us something to expand our brand upon. Our current presence is in Austin, TX and we primarily deal with 18-90 year old males and females.

Nice to have

• We previously worked with a great graphic designer who came up with some outstanding logos for particular properties. She however, moved on to another job. The theme of the previous logos was mid-century modern, southern california style (attached: Santa Monica Apartments). We like that theme, but believe for this very broad application we should go with something more present-day modern (attached: Bond Companies).
