Logo Design Brief
I'm looking for a simple logo that can be used as both a header for a web page as well as a logo to inscribe on our products so a single symbol or symbol with "Durendal Knives" below. I'm looking for a particular style that is part Bauhaus, part Eames (furniture), part mid-century modern and part art deco. I'll attach images to clarify. The key will be to make the logo simplistic enough so that it is clear even when it is around a quarter inch in diameter. The knife logo wouldn't include the text below the symbol.
Durendal Knives makes high end pocket knives that use exotic materials and cutting edge technology. Our designs emphasize clean sweeping lines and caters to the luxury goods market. Our target audience are those interested in high end accessories and aim for clean classic styles. The price point will be quite high so the logo needs to reflect this luxury feel. If you are unfamiliar with high end knives it would be a very similar audience and appeal compared with luxury watches.
The images I've included are of random logos, items, art and scenes that hit on the style I'm looking for. Some are too busy but they follow the right theme. I'm looking for very simplistic. Some products that have the same style would be sports lighters (Dunhill turbo), Braun designs (braun watch) etc. Simple and clean. I'm mainly looking for black, white and gray but could also be swayed toward a rust red, cream and black as seen in the eames pictures.
Finally while I want these traditional styles incoporated I don't want to go with something too bland or tame. I'd like to commit to a theme and be stylistic so it stands out.
Target Market(s)
The target market for our products are those interested in high end accessories and have an interest in clean classic styles. This honestly is just as much a fashion item as it is a tool. The price point will be quite high so the logo needs to reflect this in part. E.G. Sports lighters (Dunhill turbo), Braun designs (braun watch) etc. Simple and clean.

Requirements
Must have
- A small simple logo that can be used as an emblem on products. It must have clean, crisp lines and be masculine yet classic.
Nice to have
- I would like to try and incorporate the different style elements, but can definitely forgo a mix as long as it emphasizes functionality, masculinity and a minimalist fashion style.
Should not have
- The final design must not have more than 3 colors. Multiple shades are ok, but ideally it is going to be as simple as possible.
- Stylistically needs to stay far away from anything "tactical" or military etc. This logo should look just as much at home on the face of a Rolex Submariner as it would on our knives. That said it can incorporate a knife or blade shape in the logo so it doesn't need to be ambiguous just not "tactical"
