T-shirt Design Brief

Cost Plus Nutrition is a small chain of stores in San Antonio. Our reputation is solid but we would like greater exposure. Good and compelling design is a very effective method of getting it,.

Specifics:
Demographic: 20-40+, moderate to upper income
Market: Serious gym and fitness crowd

Style: feminine without being girly. Classic modern influences; refer to Italian and French graphic design, especially early to mid 20th century, featuring stylized female figures; free-form—no borders; smart and sophisticated; nothing aggressive or belligerent in tone. Free-form, no borders
Back of shirt should feature only a stylized ‘Cost Plus Nutrition’ in a border (circle, square, etc.).

Theme: My sense is that while theme is important and subject matter should be relevant, overall design is the most important criterion; in other words, the design can reflect fitness in a subtle fashion but shouldn’t hammer it.
Color: Good color representation but nothing garish
Fabric selection will be thin, soft, stretchy, form-fitting. Pigment will be impregnated

Having established these parameters, I’m not inclined to micro-manage but I will offer succinct comments to streamline the process.
I’m hoping for a drop-dead gorgeous shirt design adaptable to a number of shirt styles: T shirt, tank, etc. If shirt is as compelling as I expect it to be, I will be commissioning a shirt 3-4X yearly.
