Logo Design Brief
Royal Sign Company will be re-branding and is looking for the foundation with a new logo design.
Royal Sign has been successful for over 50 years in the sign industry, manufacturing and installing custom electric signage. We have a strong reputation as a reliable company who provides a high quality product and high level of service.
The current logo (as provided) has been in use for approximately 20 years. It carries recognition and brand equity, however, it shows its age and is in need of an update. We would like for the new logo to be a contemporary update to the existing logo.

I would like to encourage all designers to read the design brief. The majority of the designs submitted thus far have been off brief in one or more ways.

Must have
- While we are open to new ideas and new concepts, we must have a semblance of the old logo to be recognizable in the update.
Our corporate color is orange and we are not looking to go away from that.
As a custom sign company, we provide creative sign solutions to our customers. We expect our logo to illustrate the creativity which our customers will find when the come to us for our services.
Nice to have
- We are open to adding a symbol or icon to the logo. If you go this direction, we would like it to be simple, bold and impactful. We would not want it to be elegant or ornate.
Should not have
- Please no crowns, jewels or scepters. If you would like to symbolize royalty in the design, please use creative and abstract symbols of it.
No gradients please. Our logo will be used in too many applications where a gradient will not be practical.
While we emphasis a high level of quality and service, we are still a sign company and not a bank or a law firm. Please think of simple and strong more than elegant and ornate.
