Illustration Design Brief

We need a creative and original illustration for our front page. Spamguard is a managed spam filter service developed and hosted in Switzerland. Spamguard filters different kinds of threats including viruses, trojans, phishing and spam. Our main goal is to block bad email without interfering with your regular business and private messages.

The illustration is for spamguard.io. Have a look, your illustration goes on the front page. There you can see what dimensions are required.

During development you can send me small sketches showing me how you want to draw the illustration. Maybe just draw small parts where I can see your technique and style. You don't need to submit the complete design in the beginning. I will let you know in time if you're one of the finalists.

Your design should say: Spamguard protects you and makes you happy (reading email).

The process you need to illustrate looks like this:

Our clients get emails from various sources. Some are good and genuine, others are bad or fraudulent. All messages are delivered directly to a spamguard server in the cloud. Our systems inspect all messages and forward the clean to the clients and block the bad.

My idea is an illustration that has the internet on one side and a happy user on the other side. The internet is dark and shady containing the different threats you're exposed to through email. The user side is bright and happy. He's reading his clean and safe email on a tablet or notebook. His device is connected to the spamguard logo, indicating that he is protected by spamguard. The logo connects the internet with the user and all the threats.

I tried to draw this quickly. See the first upload.

This is just my first idea. If you come up with something completely different, that's fine with me. Just transport the message: spamguard makes you a happy email reader.

The spamguard logo is in the second and third upload (.jpg and .ai). Do not use the logo as is. Draw the logo in the same style as the rest of the illustration.

• There should be no text in the final illustration.
• The labels on the uploaded sketch are for you, because my drawings are a bit poor.
