Logo Design Brief

Logo needed for an up and coming music producer Get Low! The music produced combines modern tribal club influences (think Major Lazer) with the post-modern Hip Hop influences of Kanye West).

Overall the design should be simple but powerful. The design should incorporate traditional symbolism in a modern context (see material Symbolism + text). The symbolism should be able to stand out on its own without the accompanying text. i.e. I would like to be able to use the symbol without the text if possible as well.

The logo should be versatile enough to be used across social media (Soundcloud, Youtube, Facebook etc), as well as promotion material etc. It also needs to be memorable and identifiable no matter what form it is in (see material EDM logos).

• 90s Hip Hop logo references especially in the font type and placement
• eg. Kanye West, Run DMC, De La Soul (see material 90s Hip Hop)
• Symbolism incorporated in or around the logo text (see material Symbolism + text)

Should not have

• Too much colour.
• Only text (with no symbols or pictures)
• Be too simple or too busy (check against EDM and Hip Hop logos as a benchmark)
