Logo Design Brief
I currently have a herd of 40 alpacas in Northern California that I breed, show and produce fine yarn for knitting and weaving. I am currently transitioning my herd to focus on rare appaloosa alpacas. They come in two distinct varieties-- spotted and harlequin grey. The harlequins are born fawn and turn a beautiful taupe grey. Due to the unique taupe color of harlequins, they are sometimes referred to as "lavender alpacas". Some have faces the color / pattern of a calico cat (I have included some photos as examples). There are only 11 original appaloosa genes in the United States and you only get true appaloosa spots or the harlequin color with select breedings containing these genes. My herd as well as the offspring of select breedings will be "rare gems" in the alpaca world. I'm hoping for a logo that can communicate... not only are my alpacas special / beautiful-- but they are rare as well.
To give you a feel for me: I love the outdoors / nature. One of the many things that I love about alpacas is their link to “green” living. I am an organic gardener and love fiber that does not need to be dyed to obtain fabulous color selections. Also, I am hoping to market my appaloosa fiber to a niche fiber artisan market that will appreciate the beautiful "hether" colored yarn you get from spinning appaloosa fiber.
I am including some pictures of my herd as well as some other logos that I like aspects of.
I like crystals (gems) such as amethyst and opals.
