Logo Design Brief

We need a corporate brand (e.g. master brand) logo for a new made-to-measure outdoor apparel line for dogs and the people who love them. The products are simple in design yet sophisticated in the way they protect your dog's core (heart, lungs, stomach, etc.) from the elements...rain, mud, snow, sleet, and ice.

The first three products to launch will be the Core Dog BellyGuard™, the Core Dog Belly Warmer™, and the Core Dog Belly 2-in-1 Protector System™. We use technical fabrics (ballistic nylon) for practical purposes (dog park visits) with an equal focus on form and function.

All product names will be trademarked (and possibly registered) and will require a lock-up with a component of the corporate brand name - Core Dog - so we are open to unique treatments of just this phrase (e.g. Core Dog vs CoreDog) so that it is memorable and makes sense for product line extensions, be they additional apparel or other types of dog gear. In other words, when locked up with product brand names, we will drop off the "Gear."

The logo design should be extensible across all print, digital, and video assets to include (but not limited to): business cards, print ads, product sell sheets, t-shirts, packaging, product, website, banner ads, email, blog, social media accounts, sales & marketing videos.

Design Considerations:
- Our business was inspired by Luna the Shiloh Shepherd, so please consider her image (attached) in the logo
- The majority of our competitors' logos have been designed using yellow/gold/orange + black. Please do not use anything in the yellow, gold, orange, or brown palettes
- We have a personal preference for reds, terracottas, greens, blues, and grays

Requirements

Must have

• 1) Master brand logo for Core Dog Gear.
• 2) Ability to do a product-specific logo lock-up of Core Dog (no 'Gear') + product name.
• 3) Combination of unique illustration or icon plus text.
• 4) Must work well as both 4-color and b&w logo.
• 5) Extensible across print, digital, and video assets as well as render clearly on when printed or embroidered on fabrics.
• 6) Must fit the category (pet products) and sub-category (outdoor apparel/gear) bur also stand out from the current competitive set.

Nice to have

• 1) Use of our canine muse - Luna the Shiloh Shepherd - in the custom illustration or icon.

Should not have

• 1) Please DO NOT use yellow, gold, orange, or brown in graphics or text.
