Illustration Design Brief
We need an illustration for a scientific article to illustrate our approach by an analogy involving boxes and flowers. The general layout and content of the illustration should be as sketched in the attached document. Three situations are shown, involving boxes and flowers: The left hand side shows a closed wooden box; in the middle there is the same closed box but adorned with (small) flowers on the outside; the right hand side should show a box that is open (top is removed) and serves as a flower pot for a large flower coming out of it (the box is still adorned with flowers but this is now secondary). The legend on the top left should allow for describing what the boxes stand for and what the flowers stand for. The illustration should be simple and elegant (not too detailed or realistic). It should be clear that the first two boxes are closed whereas the third is open, and that while flowers are only *attached* to the middle box, the big flower on the right is the *main content* of the box. The illustration should in general be (relatively) bold and striking, and the large flower to the right should be a strong flower and not a fragile one.
