Logo Design Brief
Stumble + Love is a new blog featuring independently owned stores that house beautifully designed products (primarily homewares, but also fashion, food, jewellery). The stores are not necessarily found in the advertised ‘shopping precincts’ of cities, but are found in country towns, suburban streets or hidden city laneways.
I would like a corporate identity (logo, colour palette and font/s). I'd like a logo that is fresh and appealing, and that identifies with idea of stumbling across stores and falling in love with them. This came about from walking the little cobblestone streets in European countries and finding stores that weren't in the tourist brochures.
It also needs to align with the types of stores that will generally be featured. Words that spring to mind are elegant, luxurious, contemporary, creative, simple, delicate, warm, inviting.
It needs to work across both digital and print mediums, and needs to be flexible to suit different formats and sizes (ie banner v avatar). Ideally I’d like text and a non-text element that can also be used as a standalone symbol of the brand - however if there is a text only logo that looks amazing, I'll happily consider it. I'll be designing the stationery etc for the brand, so need elements that lend themselves to a bit of creativity.
The + symbol does not need to be a +. I do prefer it, and use it when writing Stumble + Love in normal font, but if you can wow me with another 'and' symbol, I may change my mind.
As far as the colour palette goes, I am fairly open to suggestions although I'd like to avoid 'dull' colours. It doesn’t have to be a two colour design, although if more colours are used, I’d like 2-3 of them to be the main colours, with the other colours being secondary/supporting colours.
I’d prefer the font to be clean and fresh – certainly not one of the cartoon type fonts.
The aim is that Stumble + Love will ultimately grow to provide advertising space and will also buy advertising space (print and digital) so the logo will need to have an immediate impact and be memorable.

Requirements
Must have
- No must haves.
Nice to have
- Optional tag line:
Showcasing beautiful boutiques
I'm happy to consider 'illustrative/sketch' looking logos as well.
The logo could incorporate some sort of walking track/footsteps type of image perhaps?
Should not have
- Even though the title has the word 'love' in it, I'd like to avoid images of hearts (unless very abstract).
