Logo Design Brief

Paparella Photography

I have just launched a kids and families contemporary portraiture business, based in Australia - Paparella Photography.

I specialise in fun, funky, natural light photography. I approach each photography session in a spontaneous way. I love to have fun, and I want my clients to have fun too. I love capturing spontaneous, natural moments, interactions and relationships.

My Motto: BE QUIRKY, BE CHEEKY, BE BOLD

I need a funky, fun and EYE CATCHING logo to be used for all marketing (stationery, web etc) - and will be used for all of my branding.

I want “Paparella” to have a really fun unique, really memorable text (both in colour and style. I’m leaning at the moment towards a more ‘script’ style of text, however I’m open to ideas! I'd like to have a really strong wordmark logo to watermark my photos and be a very memorable brand at the same time. I would like the word “Paparella” to be the main focus of the logo. The word “Photography” will just be used as subtext (ie – it will be used in combination with the logo, eg. underneath “Paparella” in a small, different text.)

The same text font needs to be used in the headings on the website, stationery and any promotional material.

I’d love the theme to be colourful, fun, quirky, cute, cheeky and interesting! Good bold colour palette with a white background.

I would also really love some illustration as part of the logo - an emblem or motif of some sort. (please see Purple Palate attachment, and urls in attached Creative brief word document).


Colours I love – Pink, Brown, Lime Green, Forest Green, Orange, Baby blue. I quite like the combination of hot (cerise) pink or candy pink to be quite dominant, with a support colour or colours, but I am VERY open to other ideas and colour combination.

Target Market(s)

The target market are 30-45 year old adults with young children (predominantly appealing to mothers) with a combined household income of $130,000 AUD and above. People with an appreciation for high quality photography that have the disposable income to pay for it.

Requirements

Must have

• 1. Some sort of small illustration, embellishment or motif of some sort.
• 2. BOLD COLOUR with a white background only. No auras, fades or dropshadows.
• 3. Design should be adaptable for use online (website and email template) and offline (business card, compliments slip and letterhead).
• 4. Can use ''Paparella'' with or without subtext (the word photography)
• 5. Paparella should start with a capital P

Nice to have

• 1. I prefer cursive/freehand style fonts rather than modern/blocky/computer/typewriter fonts. I love the capital P in Purple Palate logo.
• 2. Natural, flowing style.

Should not have

• 1. A picture of a bird, umbrella or rubber duck
• 2. Not too 'kidsy'
• 3. I am after something elegant and classy, as well as being fun and funky - something that sits well alongside very funky and vibrant photography.
• Please nothing that looks conservative, boring and outdated.
