Logo Design Brief

11AUG -UPDATE:
Due to a new partnership, the focus have changed a bit. Instead of offering only a few exclusive places; we will now offer as well 2 big dorms for around 10 persons each. But therefore the birdnest-styled treehouses will be put on ice for the moment.
This means as well that the target market will not only be wealthy nature-loving couples but as well young folks and backpackers between 20 and 45 years. So instead of an exclusive eco resort, we are now heading more the direction to a unique Jungle lounge where people can chill out and party at the same time!
BTW, we don´t know yet if we stick with ECO RESORT or will change to something like Jungle Lounge. Anyway, this can easily be changed and please continue writing either ECO RESORT or JUNGLE LOUNGE under MANGOYA. And in case you have a better idea than any of these two, please let me know. All ideas are appreciated!

OLD:
We are looking for a logo design for our eco resort called MANGOYA. It is situated uniquely in a mangrove biotop in Central America, just 300m from one of the best Pacific beaches and the lot is full of coconut palms, huge Mango and other tropical trees (like Tamarindo, Cashew, Guayaba,...). It is a place to relax and enjoy nature and not a party place as many of the surrounded beach hotels. We offer mangrove boat tours, visits to the local turtle rescue center, birdwatching tours, ... and of course some nice spots to just hang out like the natural style pool, jacuzzi and lounge areas with hammocks and big sofas under the mango trees. The different constructions like the main "rancho" and the small villas are all white with palm-leave roofs. Additionally we offer as accommodation for 2 as well our exclusive tree houses that look like birdnests.
The logo design should be very elegant and communicating nature, leisure, luxury and Mangroves and/or Mangos!

• Due to all your different designs, we are now able to define much better what we are looking for than we were in the beginning of the contest. And although we have received already so many different ones and there are a bunch of really nice ones, we are still waiting for the perfect one. Due to all your different designs, we realised that some of our ideas were not good and are now able to define much better what we are looking for than we were in the beginning of the contest.
• Therefore here is now the updated description of what logo design we would like to see:
• A catchy image of one of the two key elements: Mango (fruit/tree) or Mangrove (we realized that all others were not really symbolic enough for our place). It should be quite simple but artistic. It could be whatever kind of painting or possibly just some kind of a stylized mango or mangrove-icon. It definitely should not feel too pictorial, too heavy or too much. It should be catchy, feel fresh and elegant, and the most important, it should have that certain something!
• UPDATE FROM 11th of August;
• Yesterday, we had a meeting with a new partner who will join us on the project and afterwards I was sitting a lot of hours with my wife (as she is the other person involved in this project), presenting her all proposals and getting her feedback.
• From the beginning we had some specific ideas, e.g. with a lot of details and different elements like mangrove, hammock and canoe included in one image. But now looking at the different proposals and at the fact, that our whole concept will slightly change with the additional partner on board; we realised that we both prefer:
• WATERCOLOR DESIGNS WITH A COLOR GRADIENT!
• So in case you are not yet furious with me for changing the idea (sorry guys, wasn´t planned at all!) and you want to give it another try then please send me from now on watercolor logos with color gradient.
• It always should be really arty (not automatically modern art but also not so old fashioned), fresh and elegant. I don´t want to give a direct example, as this would limit your creativity too much, but when going through pinterest, I saw already a bunch of nice ideas, e.g. colorful blots with the logo as negative inside,....
• Colorwise there are no limits, but preferable (with) green.

Should not have

• It should definitely look very elegant and clean and not too playful or alternative.
