Logo Design Brief

We (Eternion) are a software company aiming to help PC gamers enhance their gaming experience in multiple ways. Our first product is a Windows tool that boosts battery life when gaming on laptops (primary benefit). It also reduces temperature and noise on all PCs and laptops (secondary benefit).

We are looking for:
- A company logo
- A logo (icon) for our first product ("Battery Saver").

Company logo

The logo should match our vision in the gaming world (see above). It should reflect our simple approach to making games run better, faster, longer (etc.). It will be used on our business cards, in retail, and our website.

Product logo (icon)

Characteristics of the first product that may help you orientate for both logo and icon design. This will be helpful when designing the company logo, too, as it reflects our approach for future products:

- It is designed to be an extremely simple, 1-click solution. One click checks how much you can save (in %, see screenshot) and then activates the boost. Done!

- It blends design elements of Windows 8/10's metro/modern design language (flatness) and gaming tools (Steam, Origin, GeForce Experience, Razer Cortex), which traditionally have sported a darker theme that sits well with the target audience.

The product logo (icon) will be used in the software's main window bar, on the desktop and the Windows tray area to launch our product and the retail box. It shouldn't be too playful and potentially alienate non-gamers (as the tool works for other purposed, too). Here are some potential elements to use, but you are obviously highly welcome to surprise us with a far more creative approach:

- a flat battery icon and a plus sign, signalling the benefit in battery life
- a gamepad/mouse+keyboard combo
- a gaming laptop

Again, we appreciate a creative approach here - but it should still be instantly recognizable as a battery boosting tool as it sits on the users desktop, taskbar and in the users tray.

We are NOT looking for: Most tools in this segment use iconography that's already used in Windows (e.g. three-dimensional battery icons from the Windows 7 control panel). This is not our design direction.
