Illustration Design Brief

The business is called “Beat The Donkey”. The basic idea is that customers are being offered already existing products for much lower prices than what they are used to. Modern techniques are available to realize these ‘much lower than usual’ price offerings. (For example printing, but there are many other products.).
Beat The Monkey is offering and organizing that ‘clever’ possibility.

I am looking for a donkey character logo. A character that looks "friendly", but has also some characteristics of being a smart ass, in the sense of “because I’m smart I can offer you a far better deal than what you are used to up till now.”
I would like to start with only the impression of this donkey’s head. It will be the logo of the company. I am open to color suggestions.

Later on I would like that character to have a body and a few other specific facial impressions.
