Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for a new multi-generational playgroup where young children will play will elderly dementia patients. The logo should be fairly simple incorporating an elderly person and a toddler, some indigenous art dots and some local WA flowers such as Kangaroo paws and Blue Leschenaultias. Yallambee means 'dwell at ease' and it is the name of the retirement village and aged care hostel that the playgroup will operate from. The goal is to improve the quality of life for elderly people living with dementia by providing young toddlers for them to interact with. There will be structured activities by trained occupational therapists and the parents of the toddlers will also be involved. This is the first of its kind in our area and studies have shown that elderly dementia patients relax and enjoy the non judgemental company of young children

• My idea is a round logo with a silhouette style picture of an older person holding hands with a toddler walking away together with native flowers to Mundaring in the foreground and the name on the top Playgroup At Yallambee. Yallambee means “to dwell at ease” its an indigenous word so I’d like to pay tribute to the indigenous heritage with maybe some dot art around the border.
