we need a logo design for Dirigo Learning, a new social enterprise helping parents, in all parts of the world but especially in the developing world, help their kids. the incidence of autism, adhd, and other developmental disorders is skyrocketing - not just in the US but around the world. in the developing world, however, there are often too few therapists and developmental experts available to help. even where there are experts available, many families living at the bottom of the pyramid can't afford them. but their 'quirky' kids nonetheless need help.
Dirigo Learning is all about providing parents and teachers with the insights, practical skills, and toolkits needed to lead their children forward - to teach 'quirky' kids to calm and regulate themselves, recognize their skills and worth, and understand and connect productively with teachers, friends, and classmates in school, on the playground, in workgroups, and eventually on the job.
dirigo is from the latin 'to lead.' our logo should communicate hope and confidence. it should be playful and colorful but not kid-like. it must also signal quality and sophisticated expertise. and the strength to create positive change.
