Logo Design Brief
I need a logo for a new gelato (Italian ice cream) store concept called Delphini's. It must be simple, elegant and contemporary. Preferebly in one colour only, on a light background. Our product will be of the highest quality, served in a classy, cool and unpretentious environment in the town of Totnes. The name of the town should also be on the logo. Not corporate but not "hipster" either. Delphini is a family name and also a homonym of the Italian word for "dolphins". The pilot store is small, and will serve only ice cream, coffee and Italian cakes/cookies. The town is quite progressive, funky, cool. Lots of independent coffee shops, boutiques, galleries, etc.

Project Deadline Extended Reason: I am extending the deadline as I have now guaranteed payment and refined the Brief. I would like to see the best effort from some of the higher ranked designers. There are two proposals from Italy and Brasil that I think have lots of potential, but still needs some work and so far I have not seen any other designs I really like. Our pilot store is located in a prosperous, relatively cosmopolitan town in England with a high proportion of progressive/"green" middle class people. The location is on the main shopping street, surrounded by boutique clothes shops, art galleries and high quality cafes/bakeries that focus mainly on organic food.

Requirements
Must have
- The name Delphini's must be clearly in the logo. The logo must be monochrome and not too garish - visible, attractive, and evocative or a product that is a classic luxury treat.
Nice to have
- It would be nice if the logo can communicate that the product is Gelato (italian style ice cream), but this is not an absolute must. I am open to all ideas regarding colour. The store's walls will be in a warm, light Creme/Yellow/Ochre colour, so I am thinking of a deep Aquamarine or Dark Cherry Red logo, but please do surprise me if you have some better ideas. Our slogan is "Made Here - With Love - Today". You can incorporate this discreetly in the logo if you like, but the name DELPHINI's must be the most prominent.
Should not have
- Any animals except a dolphin/dolphins should not be used. The words "ice cream" should not appear in the logo. Only "gelato" or "gelateria".
