Character Design Brief

Edit: as the project progressed I am thinking a nice iconic polar bear or two maybe with mountains, strong yet clean.

Please NO Raccoons, that was just an example of another company using an animal character.

artik.com has been around a long time, we do custom printing and embroidery on T-shirts and other garments and we supply custom printed promotional items.
We deal with the public B2C and with other businesses B2B, so the logo has to appeal for small, large and very large corporate clients.
Because the name Artik sounds like Arctic, it is usually associated with the colour blue.

I have been feeling our current logo (see at www.artik.com ) is wrong for years so I admit have built in frustration, our current logo is clean and modern but I find it vague and slippery on the memory, I can't read it, it has a big cross, the blue is too weak, I can't do anything with it, I want to have some fun with the new logo, very much like porter does (do an image search ‘flyporter raccoon’).

I could have that animal or icon or super hero with different products, wearing an embroidered baseball cap, wearing a printed T-shirt, carrying a printed tote bag, etc.

Maybe an animal associated with the cold north, or a play on the Art part of Artik as we use inks. Maybe a superhero. Also it is me and my business partner so maybe two of the icon.

Part of it is that I think it will be good advertising but the bigger part is that I want to have fun and enjoy Artik, we are a creative business let's have fun and create! You know how passion fuels things, we can have contests and fun with our new icon.

I want the logo to be iconic graphical and simple, something that I would love to wear a shirt with.

Fun and play and passion.

Target Market(s)

Anyone needing custom printed T-shirt, golf shirts, promotional products like printed pens and custom printed mugs. Think between a family reunion needing 50 printed T-shirts and Fedex needing 1000 embroidered Golf shirts for their staf uniforms.

Requirements

Must have

• The attached images are just ideas from stock image and a company logo, don't follow them exactly.
• A logo that is easy to remember like the WWF panda. A great graphical look, some character, animal related to the cold north or super hero I can have fun with. (like Porter's raccoon, google search 'flyporter raccoon').
• Another possible direction is ART in artik.
• I want to clearly read the word Artik or artik.com
