Logo Design Brief

Survival Pulse (http://survivalpulse.com) is an aggregation website for emergency preparedness and alternative news articles. I am looking for a new logo that really catches the eye. I am open to different styles/colors but I think I would really like black or grey (#444444) with red (#8B0000)!

I like the idea of incorporating the heartbeat/pulse into the logo and maybe even an image of a gun or military guy if you can find a creative way to do that!

For fonts, something slightly distressed or "war-torn" is what I think I would like best. However, I don't want the logo to be too "loud" as my website is text based and simple so I would like to stick with that theme to a degree. Of course just be creative because I am open to different styles :)

The logo should be horizontal with minimum of 3:1 width to height so it can fit nicely in the header on the website. even a little wider like 3.5:1 would be great.

I really don't like the logo I have now so don't base anything off of that!

Most Survival Pulse visitors are concerned about the immediate possibility of an economic collapse or major event that could usher in a period of civil unrest, rioting, looting, or worse. They look to my website for information on getting themselves and their family more prepared for anything from personal to global disasters.

Visitors are mainly from the US. Interests of the typical visitor are guns, ammo, food and water storage, etc.

Think Martial Law, World War 3, Electrical Grid Crash, etc.

Nice to have

• The target audience is into military style guns and gear. Maybe it would be cool incorporate this kind of feel into the logo.

Should not have

• I definitely do not want a wilderness survival theme logo. The website is not focused on surviving in the woods or anything of that nature.
