The "Center for Early Music Performance and Research" (CEMRAP) teaches music students how music of the middle ages to the 19th century was performed. As part of this process we use musical instruments from the period such as harpsichords, Baroqoe violins, viols, etc. and study manuscripts and old prints. As a goal, we're trying to reconstruct musical settings of the 16th to 17th centuries. Here is our current website: http://www.shsu.edu/cemrap/

Requirements
Must have
- The logo should look professional (appropriate for a university), simple and classy, and should in some way express what we do.
Nice to have
- It would be nice if the logo incorporated a historical-musical detail (a Renaissance initial, a historical font, historical musical notation, ... I am attaching some examples below. If you have another idea and need help finding it, let me know). FYI, the university font is Adobe Garamond Pro.
Should not have
- The logo should not look tacky, childish, or generic
