Logo Design Brief

I need a logo designed for a bicycle race I'm hosting called the Thomasville Classic. The race has two distances for riders to choose from, either a 50 or 100 mile, and the majority of each race is on dirt/gravel roads. The race starts/finishes in Thomasville, GA.

Thomasville has a huge live oak called The Big Oak that is a symbol of the town. I like the idea of including the Big Oak in the logo. I attached a photo of the Big Oak, and a Google search will yield many more.

A bicycle doesn't necessarily need to be included in the design.

The logo should be fairly simple, with a clean appearance and maybe a retro-style font such as some of the House Industries fonts that look like something you would see on old school painted signs. The font should be easy to read, no cursive-style fonts please. The logo should look good when scaled down to fit on a cell phone screen, and also when blown up enough to print on a t-shirt. Or provide a small and large version if needed. The logo should be a single color to minimize printing costs for t-shirts/posters/etc. I'll need the logo in several formats:

-Transparent background
-Black Background
-White (or some other light color) logo on transparent background
-White (or some other light color) logo on black background
