could you please elaborate a little bit about what youre looking for. what you like, what you dislike, what if any illustrative elements you might be looking for or NOT looking for (wheels, smoke, flames, lightning, checkered-flag, skulls, wings, etc...)

Initials plus Motorsports is fine, checkered flag is fine although I would prefer something a little different than a basic flag. Car number can be used #87. Classy and firm not frivolous.... this is our first time doing this so not sure what else to say.

i'll tell you this as an absolute FACT from experience. a lot of the better designers here (myself included) dont take on non-guaranteed projects. on average, guaranteed projects get 3x-10x more submissions and submissions from a better class of designer.

if you guaranty your payment. and extend your deadline. you are FAR more likely to get what you want.

I just found out how to look at the designs so starting to look at what has been sent in. I have no problem with the guarantee however I was not sure how all this worked. I will try to figure out how to guarantee and extend the deadline.

now if there is something you see among what's presented so far that you like. take it.

but if you don't. just let this project end. get a refund and launch a NEW project with about a 7-10 day deadline and guaranteed payment. your dollar value is also a little low. you will get on average about 200 submissions (from quality designers) at about $400. and that number goes up with an increased budget. last one i saw with a $700 budget had several hundred submissions.
