I am looking for a simple, vintage logo design for a start-up fine carpentry and furniture company. Custom furniture and finish work is our specialty. We are a new business in a big college town where there is an emphasis on fine art and design. We chose Riesen Carpentry because it is part of my heritage. Riesen is the last name of my father's family (German). They were a large construction company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and they built city hall. Construction, art, and design are in our blood. It is an important part of our story.
Target Market(s)
Target audience is anyone who can appreciate fine craftsmanship, or is looking for a specific/custom piece for a particular space (on a small to grand scale). I want to make custom furniture attainable to anyone who appreciates the design, skill, and heart that goes into each piece.

Requirements
Must have
- Simplicity with vintage feel
Nice to have
- I like designs that are mostly black and white and typography that looks old-fashioned. Some ideas would be to incorporate some wood-grain texture and/or woodworking hand tools. Riesen is a family name...I come from a family of builders and woodworkers from Milwaukee, Wisconsin (they built city hall.) I want my business to reflect my family's history of work ethic and craftsmanship. A subtle nod to Milwaukee in the logo design would be cool (like a skyline?).
Should not have
- Should not have too much color or too many small details. A pop of red somewhere might be ok (like to make the word Riesen stand out). The logo will mostly be used on a navy blue background (navy trailer, shirts, etc).
