Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for my company: BoCo Cider Corporation. It will be the first cidery in Boulder Colorado, which will include production and probably a tasting room.

“Cider” is fermented apple juice made into an adult alcoholic beverage in a process similar to wine, but it will be served cold and bubbly more like a beer in a fun environment. The Romans are said to have modernized cider by using grafting techniques from the Greeks and fermentation innovations from the Celts and Gauls. Early English and French immigrants brought cider culture to the New World and it was the drink of choice for early Americans. Prohibition decimated cider in the USA because cider apple orchards were torn out. But now America is enjoying a cider renaissance even though the industry is in its rebirth much like micro beers were 25 years ago.

I prefer a very simple logo that associates the product with Boulder's reputation: a "foodie" university town of fit smart people enjoying the outdoors, healthy life styles and pursuit of happiness. "BoCo Cider" must be a part of the logo.

Target Market(s)

Boulder has the highest per capita number of micro-breweries, which means a large group of consumers that like hand-crafted beers and a fun environment. I'm hoping to entice those customers by offering a product that has similar bubbles, alcohol levels, and refreshing cold taste. However, my cider will be gluten free, not as filling, and just plain different and new.
