We"d like a sharp looking logo for a golf news & community site - CanadianGolfer.com. We"re a national web publication with top writers who talk about everything from golf courses to the PGA Tour to local golf news. Our tag line is "Where Canada Talks Golf". You can view the relatively simple logos we have up at the site http://canadiangolfer.com and its sister site at http://www.ontgolf.ca - ideally we"d like something professional looking but cutting edge enough to get our new site launched with a bang.

Requirements

Must have

• The logo should have red maple leaf (for Canada) somewhere in its design. It also needs the words CanadianGolfer.com (C and G capitalized).
  
  We"d also like to have a logo that has the required CanadianGolfer.com text as well as an icon/illustration (kind of like the logo for this DesignCrowd website). We"re not looking for an illustartion of a golfer or anything, but some sort of icon we can separate out and use (perhaps as a favicon) would be great. Perhaps it would incorporate a maple leaf, or the "CG" I mention below, I"ll leave that up to your creative flair

Nice to have

• We also have a historical tie-in to an old publication called "Canadian Golfer" - I have attached a cover of this old magazine. I wonder if the "CG" icon that is used on the bottom have of this page can be revitalized and perhaps used in the new logo design? Maybe not an exact copy of it, but a throw-back to it of some sort might be cool.
