Logo Design Brief

We want to clean up our logo and bring it a little more current with sleek lines, styling and a font unique to us. We have had a logo for some time now and it is stale and the font is overused in our space. I will attach a seriously rough idea of what I am looking for. I will also attach the old logo for reference. What I have attached for a concept will demonstrate my lack of artistic ability and I will allow quite a bit of artistic license with the designs however black and white are the colors.
