Logo Design Brief

Logo for a family friendly festival. This is a 4th of July style festival that use to feature fireworks but is changing to a laser light show. I would like a logo that compliments a laser light show but not to the point where it is the main feature of the logo. I do not want it to look dated like an 80's laser light show logo. This logo needs to be clean and simple to read, it will be used on t-shirts, marketing, and large stage banner. Attached is our old logo so you can get a little bit of a feel for what we were doing. It does not have to look like the attachment, that is only for reference.
