Logo Design Brief
My current retail business is too broad and I will be splitting the business into two departments. One being motorcycle dual sport, adventure gear and parts and the second being tactical gear. My main focus is motorcycle dual sport, adventure riding and motorcycle parts/accessories as it's most my sales and client base. I currently sell motorcycle travel bags, gear bags, motorcycle parts, off-road gear related to motorcycles. I am entirely online based business located near Phoenix, Arizona. I am an active rider and have been in business for almost 4 years now. I will be expanding onto more motorcycle stuff such as apparel and helmets down the road, but I first need to give my business an overhaul on the image and mantra. I need a catchy logo that will translate well to people who like dual sport motorcycles (on-road and off-road riding) and/or adventure riding (think large bikes traveling around the world all loaded up with luggage). I want a logo that if I were to put on a shirt, I want people to be able to look at it and identify that its motorcycle off-road or adventure related community.
People like to identify with hobbies and lifestyles and I want people to see my logo and say "yeah, that's me". This logo could involve a sprocket, an off-road motorcycle tire kicking up dirt, a motorcycle itself, a mountain line in background, handlebars, a motorcycle helmet, etc... Think of something that relates to a motorcycle riding of some sort. My business name "Ridgeline Gear" will be the business name for the motorcycle side of the house. This logo needs to be able to look good on webpage as well as a front t-shirt. I could always contract you for helping come up with backside of the shirt and slightly modified logo that we can make larger or maybe more detail since image will be larger.
I will end up adopting a second business name for the tactical side of business later which you don't need to concern yourself with just yet...we will work on that later and will be a separate job.
While this isn't greatly important, but in case you wanted to know about the name. The word "Ridgeline" applies to the physical feature of a mountain which represents the highest point of mountain and trails down to the base. It's the leading or cutting edge of a mountain. "Gear" in this case could imply or be related to equipment, bags etc or an actual gear like a sprocket gear or 1st gear on a motorcycle. Don't get too hung up on the business name words and what they mean. I just wanted to give you info on the name and it's entirely up to artist discretion on making the name fit with the logo image.
Must:
Motorcycle related
Off-road and/or Travel related
Adventure (could include terrain,a world globe, map, topographic lines)
Not have's:
No tactical related stuff
Maybe(Up to artist):
Can be related to business name "Ridgeline Gear" For example. a mountain in background and a motorcycle making a turn or a big sprocket gear climbing a mountain. I don't know, I am not that creative and I am simply giving you an idea of what I mean. If you can make it work great, if not, no big deal.
I have attached some sample images of other businesses, clubs or groups that are VERY similar to what my client base is and does. Pay close attention to these designs as they are fairly close to what I am looking for. The example images aren't too abstract to where you have to guess what it means, but the image gives you a general idea of what the club is or does. They are also not too cartoonish, so it needs to be middle of the road to semi-serious/professional. These images are spoken for and merely to give you an idea of the direction I am looking. The BMW R1200GS or R1200GS Adventure is a flagship motorcycle used in the Adventure Riding community, you will see a common theme of that bike in the example logos.

Use whatever font you feel necessary to express your art. I can always provide feedback if it needs to tamed down a bit.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and good luck to the artist!

Requirements
Must have
- Motorcycle related (motorcycle itself, a helmet, tire, gear, sprocket, etc). Must have business name incorporated either "Ridgeline Gear" or "Ridgeline". Thought about just "RG", but that maybe too absract.
Nice to have
- Terrain feature, motorcycle, a map, BMW R1200GS, Rally type motorcycle. I am down for whatever you can make work. Refer to attached images to get a feeling I am going for.
Should not have
- No street bikes or Harley's ( I love 'em both, but it's not my client base, so no offense if you ride them). Not cartoonish. Not too abstract to where it makes you scratch your head. Please do not make it exactly existing logos used by companies or groups as I want to avoid copyright issues.
