Logo Design Brief

I need a traditional Logo / Branding for my Martial Arts Dojo. Something that will translate well onto a badge for a Karate uniform.

I predominatly teach a traditional form of Karate Do called Goju Ryu. The name of my Dojo is KENKYO-KAN or KENKYOKAN - Kenkyo is an old japanese word meaning humility.

I would like to see balanced designs that emcompass Red ,Black and White.

I am open to your suggestions given I am not a designer.

The fist is the MAIN focal point

The design must emcompass the black and white fist (see attached jpg) in some form (keep fist as black and white). I have also attached the Kanji for KENKYOKAN and GOJU RYU as attachments as well. These are Gyosho fonts, the look im going for is a brush type Kanji if you have other options.

Inspiration and elements can also be taken from Hidari-mitsudomoe, Sakura, White crane and other Japanese Kamon (family crest)

In a basic sense the English or Japanese for KENKYOKAN should be above the Kanji for 剛柔流 in some form.

Requirements

Must have

• The fist attached as a file must be included in the design, keep the fist as black and white.
• Only 1 fist not multiple.
• Can either have the English spelling for KENKYOKAN or the kanji 謙虛館 (use atttached graphic file)
• Must have the kanji for 剛柔流 (use attached graphic file)
• In a basic sense the English or Japanese for KENKYOKAN should be above the Kanji for 剛柔流

Nice to have

• Inspiration from Japanese Kamon (family crest) or White crane, Sakura etc

Should not have

• Should not have a modern, graphic cartoon look to it.
• It needs to go onto a Karate uniform, typically these are round in nature but I am open to design suggestion
