Logo Design Brief

Our product is CupSwap. We are a social enterprise created to solve the one billion disposable coffee cups that go into landfill each year each year in Australia. We do this by providing reusable and returnable coffee cups to cafes in exchange for a refundable deposit and monthly subscription fee. Café’s then loan these cups to consumers to drink their coffee from for a deposit. It is a cup loan system, coffee consumers lend the cups and return them to any Café in the CupSwap network at a time convenient for them, and either get their deposit back or swap the cup for a clean cup for their next coffee. Allowing both the Café and the consumer to do their bit for the environment by reducing waste.
We are looking for a minimalistic design which captures the essence of sharing and loaning the cups. It should capture the hipster component of Melbourne coffee culture. If it were a person, it would be a young, cool and hip male or female who walks past most coffee shops to line up for ten minutes at the café down a laneway to get their morning pick me up. They are about the environment and want people to know it, but value simple systems ahead of highly proactive solutions. The design should capture the essence of this person and communicate a cool, simple and modern business.
We would like to have flexibility to later update the logo to do more than cups. Therefore, Swap should be consistent but the cup can be changed over time. Very open to new ideas from all the brilliant designers out there.
The design will initially be for the logo to go onto the cups followed by business cards, letterhead (inc word based doc), with compliments, envelopes and Word documents for a letterhead & title page. Working files included.
