Web Design Brief

Mary Griffin is a singer/songwriter that has a presence in the market for over 20 years. She currently has a website, marygriffin.com that needs a major makeover. IT needs to be reorganized to; 1) make it more user friendly; 2) enable multi-languages including; Spanish, French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Portuguese; 3) enable purchases online through a storefront of promotional merchandise and music tracks. She has a logo that needs an update, as well as we currently have a business card open on DesignCrowd for input. Working to re-brand, or refresh her brand.

Mary Griffin is the next Tina Turner! She has 5 platinum records, Grammy nominations and tours with George Clinton globally and is Patti LaBelle's key backup singer for 12 years.

Some common questions have come up.  Here is some further input:

1) Colors - No specific color in mind but probably earth tones.  Although at this point we''re completely open.  Mary likes classical style, Russian, French decor.  Paris architecture. Greek, Italian textures, Goddess like symbols from the Roman Empire, or the symbols and pomp of the British monarchy.  One name on tap for the new CD is "Goddess in the Making"
2) Example website - I have not found a new one specifically, but what I don''t like about the existing one is it is not easy to navigate.  Needs to be streamlined and easy to navigate with a storefront for merchandise and music downloads.  
3) On Logo - We''re revamping a "Global" merchandise rollout logo.  We''ve also considered possibly modifying the old english "Griffin" family crest which signifies royalty, but have not explored that too much.  The hexagon yellow logo on her current website, I was thinking of modifying to gold (brushed - or polished?), then taking the MG lettering using a fountain pen type look there the line thickness flows with pressure on the pen, then make the gold look like a pillow, with the letter making an impression into the gold pillow.  This expands to a high quality pin, blinged up broach with diamonds imbedded for example, Global label identity, tee shirts, label tag on fashion clothing etc etc. 
 4) One thing marketing has asked us to build is a routine video blog to reach out to fans in a personal way.  Short clips of daily activity, travel prep for shows, etc. Possibly a signup/fanpage where people get emails sent back whenever anything new is posted, like a video blog, new pics, new events.  A menu to choose what you get updates on.
