Hello, I am looking for a podcast logo design for my new podcast series, "Building Utopia: Rajneeshpuram." The logo must be a 3000 x 3000 pixel JPEG or PNG file with 72 dpi in the RGB color space, and must otherwise comply with the iTunes store requirements for podcast artwork. It must scale up and down well. (i.e. it should look good very small, like on a phone (55 x 55 pixels) and also at full size)
The podcast is a historical investigative series about the life of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (aka Osho, an Indian guru, enlightened master, and convicted felon) and his followers, starting from about 1970 through 1990. It will combine personal, first-hand stories about people who became "Rajneeshees" as well as historical interpretation and context. There will eventually be other entries in the podcast series, like "Building Utopia: [something else besides Rajneeshpuram]."
For the logo, I seek something that is sleek, eye-catching, and immediately conveys that the series is about Rajneesh. I want it to look somewhat dark, mysterious and enticing -- conveying that the series will unlock some of the mysteries / answer lingering questions about Rajneesh and his followers. I do not want anything too busy or graphics-intensive (i.e. busy background patterns).
A large image of Rajneesh himself may be appropriate, although of course it would have to be an image that is in the public domain / OK to use, legally. And if an image of him is used, I would prefer that it be somewhat abstract/digitized/stylized so it doesn't look like the podcast will an "homage" to Rajneesh (it will not). Maybe a once-iconic image that is a bit frayed at the edges, or tarnished, or susceptible to the passing of time. Some light Indian design elements might work as well, although certainly not required.
Rajneeshees wore "sunrise colors" (mainly orange or red) so those colors would probably be most appropriate for the logo, although I'm open to ideas here.
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing your ideas!
Target Market(s)
Probably educated people in their 20s - 40s who are interested in true crime, historical podcasts, cults, and/or religious history. For this reason I'd like the logo to have a contemporary, current look that appeals to a younger, podcast-savvy audience and stands out from the crowd.
