Logo Design Brief

Logo for a start-up:
Background:
We provide underwater equipment and expertise supplier for environmental investigation.
Our equipment includes underwater cameras for deep ocean and shallow seas photography in addition to equipment for sampling the seafloor materials.
We are currently focused on providing specialist geological and ecosystem knowledge.

Internal Logo Ideas:
Our company name is 'Element Group'.
As a staring point, we would like a visual relationship with periodic table of the elements.
The company's medium term goal is to have several sub-departments (for example, environmental department, geological department, oceanographic department etc.) so some way of linking future logos together by a theme would be desired.

Logo Design:
In our discussions, we have identified that we would like a modern style and a pictorial element to the logo.
Our colour preference has been black with blue, possibly neon styling (example files of similar styles attached); black background with blue accent colour for web/electronic media but we must also consider requirement for printing on to white paper for company stationery etc.

We are also open to other combinations/recommendations/options.
