Thanks for taking a look at our contest! Much appreciated!
NOTE: Given that we have received many designs, we are "upping the game" for new ideas. Here are our rating criteria:
- Logo looks clean (few colors and shapes, not too busy)
- Logo still looks sophisticated (nice use of gradients or other elements)
- Logo has a clear element/symbol that can stand on its own (e.g., as app icon)
- Logo uses a font that looks clean yet still rounded and not too edgy (we want to appear modern, but still approachable)
- Logo has something that looks unique/innovative
- The name "Sunvigo" is clear, i.e.: no uppercase V, O not separated from the rest of the logo. We fear that people may believe the name is "SUNVIG" otherwise.
New entries, please try to address all of these, as we have received a lot of submissions already that do.
NOTE: We will try to provide feedback to all submissions, but it may some time. Thanks for your patience!
NOTE: Please do not submit designs multiple times (e.g., mockup on paper or walls), going through them takes too much time.
*****
Sunvigo is a German startup in the energy – precisely, solar/photovoltaics (PV) – sector. Our first product is a power contract plus a PV system with no upfront costs for owners of single-/dual-family homes.
Our initial customers are owners of single/dual-family homes in Germany, most of them probably families; typical age is 30 - 60 (with a focus on 35 - 50, probably). We want to appeal both to male and female customers.
Our customers 1) definitely value convenience, 2) are risk-averse and maybe financially constrained (e.g., they just bought a house and have no cash to spend on a PV system), and 3) want to help to fight climate change.
Thus, the logo must help to get across the following messages:
A) Our key value proposition is: simplicity, convenience, helping the environment. The product is not technically complex.
B) The product will be affordable for everyone, but our value proposition does not focus on low costs/savings. Hence no “budget” logos needed.
C) The logo must convey trust as well. Our customers own their homes and need to be willing to trust us with installing PV systems on their roofs and keeping them there for 20 years.
Regarding the actual logo design:
1) Elements like “Sun”, “Energy” and “Power” can be used, the “Solar Panel” should not be part of the logo, as we may extend into other segments.
2) We are open to color suggestions, but are especially interested in blue (sky/solar/trust), yellow (sun) and maybe even strong pinkish (differentiation) colors. But feel free to make other suggestions.

Requirements
Must have
- The key element is simplicity. Please keep colors and shapes used to a minimum. At most 2 - 3 colors. Apologies if the „Look and Feel“ sliders don‘t get this across.
Should also work ok in black/white.
Please always provide flat 2D logos as well so we can easily compare what they will look like on a website.
Nice to have
- Symbol of the "sun" would be great
Should not have
- No italic font, please, we prefer regular font, as it looks simpler.
Please do not include a tag line/slogan.
There should be no "house" in the logo, as we may extend into other segments.
No solar panel
