Logo Design Brief

We need a law firm logo for our firm in southeastern Wisconsin. We would like the logo to project reliability and experience---our focus is in estate planning and social security disability. We also want to communicate a connection to Milwaukee or the state of Wisconsin generally. We like the flag of Reno, Nevada, and would be ok with something highly similar, but also different enough that we won't be accused of impersonating the city government. The thing we like most about the design are the colors, they are relatively distinct and somewhat associated with Milwaukee (there's a "People's Flag" that uses them, and blue-yellow are in the logos for the Brewers and Marquette University). The "mountain", also communicates stability, though there are of course no mountains in Milwaukee.

Target Market(s)

Wisconsinites wealthy enough to need an estate plan. Generally people in late middle age or approaching retirement.

Requirements

Must have

• A compact logo that can easily be translated as an icon.

Nice to have

• We are happy with something resembling the city flag of Reno Nevada, but are open to other ideas that communicate similar themes. Not completely wedded to the color scheme, but it took us a while to settle on it, so we'd prefer not to reopen it.

Should not have

• Must not get us accused of impersonating a government.
