Logo Design Brief

I own a small start-up company called "Black Mammoth Surgical". We specialize in development of novel solutions for surgery, specially in Ophthalmology. We are based in high-tech solutions and mathematical evaluations of surgical equipment, resources, etc.
I made the original company logo myself (I have extremely limited knowledge on design, I just doodled around until I got something I liked). But now I need a profesional logo, and here's where you can help me. At that time the company was called Mammoth Biotech. I have uploaded it under the name "Original Logo".
I love minimalistic, geometric logos. I will upload a couple of logos I really like so you can get an idea. You are free to use colors, but it must also be able to look good in black and white in case we need to publish something without colors. I like the idea of having a literal mammoth in the logo, but you're welcome to be as free as you think. I'd like to have something that relates the company to science and development, or to laser surgery.
