Logo Design Brief
TracSonic is rugged audio mixer designed to be installed in racing vehicles. Similar to the in-ear monitors used by professional musicians, TracSonic integrates with the vehicle’s two-way radio to provide the driver with a personalized in-ear audio mix.
The form-fitting earbuds used by drivers to hear communications from their pit crew block nearly all outside sound. Most modern race cars are relatively quiet, making it almost impossible for the driver to hear the engine while their earbuds are in place. This limits a crucial source of information and numbs an important element of the driving experience.
TracSonic addresses this need by allowing the driver to send a mixture of ambient sound and radio communications to his earbuds, allowing him to experience the vehicle’s engine notes while maintaining contact with his pit crew.
TracSonic’s branding should evoke a sense of reliability, technology, performance, and premium experience. Our buyers are upper-income consumers of high-performance, technologically advanced brands like Bose, Ferrari, and BMW. These individuals spend tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars annually on racing, and are seeking to maximize their time on track with top-flight equipment. Key brand traits: reliability, technology, enhanced experience
In addition to expressing key brand traits, the TracSonic logo should hint at the device’s core functionality by evoking the merging of three soundwaves into a single whole. We have attached an example of how this might be accomplished, but please do not take the example as the only “correct” way; feel free to be creative in your interpretation.
The logo will be displayed on a black device, so please be sure to design with a black background.
TracSonic draft sales copy:
“Today's performance vehicles are quieter than ever. While two-way radio earbuds are great for communicating with your crew, they can make it almost impossible to hear your engine, numbing the experience of your racing machine and muffling a critical source of information.
The TracSonic onboard audio mixer integrates with your two-way radio system to relay a clear, safe and accurate combination of engine notes and radio communications to your earbuds. In addition, TracSonic filters out annoying clicks and beeps from your radio, safely limits loud noises, outputs a professional-quality audio mix to your onboard camera, and even lets you listen to your favorite music on the grid.
Designed by a team of electrical engineers, broadcast technicians, and motorsports professionals, TracSonic has been designed to survive the harsh environment of professional racing vehicles. The dustproof mixer is hardened against voltage surges, RF interference, and vibration. It includes a self-recovering fuse and a bypass switch that preserves radio communication in the unlikely event of an internal failure. The device can be installed in a matter of minutes, connecting directly to your radio harness and drawing power from your vehicle’s alternator.
TracSonic… hear the moment.”
