Logo Design Brief
I used Design Crowd 10 years ago when I started my mechanical & plumbing engineering consulting business, Caliber Mechanical Design. I'm still really happy with the logo, but a 10-year refresh may be in order. As much as I love the current design, the only problem I have with it is that it doesn't lend itself to black-and-white printing on building plans or, for instance, single-color prints on a promotional shirt. The "swirly" is a bit too busy for that. Something that's simplified a bit, but is an evolution of the current design, is what I'm looking for now. The initial design was supposed to be evocative of a pump impeller or fan blade and got bonus points for looking kind of like a "C" for "Caliber". The new design doesn't necessarily need all that, but bonus if it does. I do use the "CMD" acronym fairly often, too, so that's okay if it makes it way into the new design. I like the current fonts still - Headplane and Langdon - but they can change if needed, too.

Requirements
Must have
- The name "Caliber Mechanical Design" or "CMD" and a unique logo, possibly "evolved" from the original logo, that can be printed or engraved "single color".
Nice to have
- Something that isn't too much of a change from the original - evolved from, not "new-from-the-ground-up".
Should not have
- Overly complicated logo that can't be printed/engraved easily.
