Logo Design Brief

We're a premier real estate firm based in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky. Currently, we're revamping our for-sale signs, and we have an exciting idea in mind! Our current logo (attached) is very wide and short, it doesn't work for a lot of our purposes. We need a more square/circular logo (similar to how Facebook and many others have the full logo "Facebook" and the smaller logo "Blue circle with the F"). We would like the theme to match the attached existing logo as we will continue to use both in different situations. Some have suggested using the "RE" in the middle of the existing logo, with the roof over it but we don't like that as the "RE" doesn't really represent the company so would like to stray away from that.
