Graphic Design Brief

I need a new icon for my game Colossal Cave.

We currently use a lamp as the game icon. I believe it is boring and would like something more inviting to the player. I would like something that makes the player excited about playing. The game has dwarves, a troll, a dragon, a pirate. The icon could be something reminiscent of one of those characters. Or, the game mostly takes place in an underground cave system. Perhaps the icon could be a spooky cave? Or, perhaps it could be something that reminds the player of spelunking? A miner helmet or a person hanging on a cable being lowered into a cave?

It is tough to do something that looks interesting but has to fit into a 512x512 pixel icon. We are looking for creative ideas.

Please submit anything that you think we might like. We'll know the winner when we see it!

Do not submit anything at more than 512x512 resolution. It is important that we see how it would actually look to players.

We are targeting videogame players. The game is more of a strategy game (a puzzle game) than it is an action game.
