Logo Design Brief

We would like a clever logo for our 2026 New England Islands CCA Cruise which is an organized itinerary for members to captain cruising yachts (sailboats and power boats) to meet in selected harbors for dinners, tours and camaraderie. About 30 boats will participate. This logo will be used on Cruise swag such as clothing, coasters, mouse pads, etc., as well as printed communications. Therefore the logo needs to be simple enough for a version to be embroidered on a polo shirt or baseball cap. That also calls for limiting colors - usually red, Navy Blue and white

CCA refers to the Cruising Club of America, a very prestigious international sailing club of about 1500 members (includes Canada and Bermuda).

The CCA has a burgee (as do most yacht club organizations) which is a triangular flag. Two versions of it are uploaded. One is just 2D shape/design and the other is waving on a short pole. One of the CCA burgee versions needs to be part of the logo design. The other part should refer to the area where we will go on the cruise.
Our destinations are famous New England vacation locations such as: Nantucket; Martha's Vineyard; Cuttyhunk, MA; Newport, RI.

Hopefully the logo design will capture the spirit of Coastal southern New England's Islands - Scallop shells, Whales, Preppy Sailing capital which is Newport. I've attached what I consider a great logo for the 2018 CCA Hauraki Gulf Cruise in New Zealand. They used the kiwi bird to hold the CCA burgee. Simply brilliant in my opinion.

The deadline is May 14, 2025 but designs are welcome as soon as possible.

Target Market(s)

Adults over 50 years old, many of whom have sailed all over the world. They own a large boat (or used to) so are accomplished.
