ABSENT GOLF
We are creating a premium golf apparel brand.
This is not a traditional golf brand.
We are looking for a logo that feels more like a premium athletic or luxury apparel company than a golf company.
The logo should feel:
• Premium
• Strong
• Confident
• Modern
• Athletic
• Minimal
• Timeless
The logo must be simple enough to work as:
• A hat logo
• A chest logo on a polo
• Embroidery
• Silicone branding
• Packaging
• Website favicon
IMPORTANT
We are NOT looking for:
• Golf balls
• Golf flags
• Golf tees
• Crossed golf clubs
• Golfer silhouettes
• Mascots
• Shields
• Lions
• Wolves
• Crowns
• Generic sports logos
• Vintage country club logos
• Clip art
• AI-generated, template-based, or stock logo concepts will be immediately rejected. ONLY original custom logo designs will be considered.
The logo should be capable of becoming a standalone icon similar to Nike, Lululemon, J.Lindeberg, Arc’teryx, Veilance, or other premium apparel brands.
Please focus on creating an iconic symbol first and a wordmark second.
The best submissions will be:
• Original
• Distinctive
• Instantly recognizable
• Simple
• Premium
• Memorable
Before submitting, ask yourself:
“Could this realistically appear on a $100 premium golf polo?”
If the answer is no, please do not submit.
Additional direction:
Some of my favorite athletic brand symbols include Nike, TaylorMade, Under Armour and Gymshark.
What I admire is not the specific shape itself, but the fact that each logo is:
• Instantly recognizable
• Memorable after one viewing
• Strong as a standalone symbol
• Bold and athletic
• Simple enough to work on hats, apparel and mobile apps
Please do not imitate any existing logo. Use these only as examples of the level of simplicity, recognizability and brand strength I am looking for.
Updates
After reviewing the submissions, I’ve decided to extend the project. Many entries have not followed the creative brief, and there have also been a large number of generic AI-generated concepts. These types of submissions will be rejected immediately. There are, however, several very promising directions that I believe could become strong final solutions with further refinement. I’d like to give designers additional time to develop these ideas and better align them with the brand vision. Absent Golf is a premium performance golf brand for athletic golfers. Our brand message is “Movement Without Distraction” — helping golfers stay present, perform freely, and eliminate anything that gets in the way. For inspiration, think Gymshark, Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour. The goal is a simple, iconic standalone symbol that feels athletic, aggressive, modern, and premium. Any golf reference should be subtle and hidden within the design rather than obvious or literal. Thank you to everyone who has thoughtfully engaged with the brief. I look forward to seeing the next round of refinements.
