I need to create a brand identity for Shoot Me Now - a pop-up portrait photography studio that will be launching in the UK during Summer 2014.
The studio will be appearing at at a variety of events (predominantly music festivals, but also some corporate events), mainly as a value-added service within Hotel Bell Tent (www.hotelbelltent.co.uk) - one of the UK’s leading ‘glamping’ providers – but also as a standalone free service within the VIP area of certain events and festivals.
The pop-up studio will be a 6m x 4m tent – large enough to house a professional lighting setup / backdrops etc. - which clearly differentiates it from the various photo booth services that have become popular at various events (corporate, private parties, festivals etc.)
As the name suggests, the service should be all about fun, spontaneity and creativity, but it also need to be seen as quality - we're talking professional portraits here, not silly hats and props!
In terms of brand attributes:
• From an emotional perspective, the brand needs to be seen as fun, perhaps a
little quirky, friendly / approachable, engaging, non-intimidating and accessible.
• From a more rational perspective, the brand needs to be seen as highly
professional but affordable (i.e. not super high-end)
• From a practical perspective the identity needs to work across a variety of
applications including ‘shop front’ (or ‘tent-front’!), stationary & other physical
marketing collateral (flyers etc.), on-line photo watermark and website branding.
I am using a Squarespace template for the website and have uploaded a screen shot of a sample homepage, including text where the logo will appear. The logo will need to be visible against a range of colour backgrounds, so the design should bear this in mind. Intuitively, I feel that it should be kept quite simple and clean, although I'm open to your creativity - however, it must fit with the overall look and feel of the template homepage.
I have also uploaded some examples of established logos which I feel are in the right sort of direction - i.e. fairly simple, modern, clean typography, although I would like to see any graphic elements also introducing a bit of a sense of humour (i.e. gun graphics)

Requirements
Must have
- The logo must work against a variety of colour backgrounds as it will need to be visible on colour photographs. Should be clean and bold
Nice to have
- I would like to see some imaginative graphic ideas showing a play on words with 'shoot' (guns / gun barrels etc.), rather than the more obvious solution of including icons of cameras / lenses etc.
Should not have
- Unless genuinely imaginative, I would like to avoid the use of camera lenses / shutters / camera icons etc.
