Advertisement Design Brief

First, let me apologize for the short term. We just got an opportunity to place an ad in a commuter newspaper that will run throughout the winter months. We have tropical vacation rentals in Mexico, so it seems worth a shot.

We want to emphasize tropical luxury at competitive prices. Because we will be new to the audience, we need to cover a lot in one ad - images can definitely help. We are supplying photographs - feel free to crop or whatever.

We have the only private complex of luxury houses on the Mexican Caribbean coast, the "Riviera Maya" so we can accommodate anywhere from a single couple to a full wedding party. We want to show our large capacity without scaring off the single couple or small family with mom, dad, and a couple of kids.

Requirements
Must have
  • The ad must be 5"x5" at 200 DPI (1,000 x 1000 pixels).
  • The primary ad will be printed in black and white so it should be saved as a grayscale image. (I think they actually want a jpg, although a tiff would seem more logical!)
  • The add will also be on the web in full color so please design the ad with color in mind and then change to grayscale after the content ends.
  • Include our logo, phone number, e-mail, and website.
  • Also, unless there is a good reason not to, include the four "first tier" images.
  • Use the text as provided - not that some is optional.
Nice to have
  • Please see the text in the attachments. OOPS: I downloaded the wrong version first - use the most recent "chicagoad" text!
  • Also, unless there is a strong reason, use the "first tier" photos. We want to emphasize the accommodations, but also show large groups. We don't want to scare off the smaller groups (couples, small families) with the impression that we are only for large groups.
  • The "second tier" photos are available if they would help. Both accommodation and weddings/large groups.
Should not have
  • Stock photographs.
  • I have (obviously) had some issues loading my files so please forgive the duplicates.
