Logo Design Brief

Softworks Partners is a information technology startup focused on bringing innovative software products and services to the Insurance industry.

We need a logo design that is fresh, relevant, and combines colorful and playful (Web2.0-ish) with a touch of professional.

Colors should be rich and bold, the primary color should be dark blue or gray, which seems to work well with med-dark orange, and if it fits, green or gray (again, web2.0-ish), shapes would ideally be a soft-edge 3D.

We very much like the 3D 'block' like graphics with shadow we've seen in other designs here (like 3D bar and pie charts), looking for similar, relevant graphics to represent some of our core concepts which are really: a) Technology Innovation (Web 2.0, Cloud, Mobile, Business Intelligence, Open Source) b) Technology strategy, architecture and engineering
c) Insurance (haven't had much luck on cool graphics for this)

Items under 'a' above are the priority.

That's probably a lot for a logo, just trying to give as much food for thought as possible. Need something that can work on the web, adapted to PowerPoint (color scheme / logo) as well as for stationary/e-mail, etc... typical logo usage.
