T-shirt Design Brief

The Brand

The company, Fins, intending to launch in 2014 will design, source and sell a range of sustainable clothing, online, marketed towards water sports enthusiasts in the UK. Initially the product range will consist of t-shirts and hoodies and its success will develop into further leisure/fashion wear. The company will be modeled around concepts set by key competitors such as Finisterre, Howies and Silverstick.

Fins is a community who share a common passion for life by the water. Our designs tap the emotional connections that our consumers have for water life and that consumer's desire to affiliate him or herself with others who share the same lifestyle.

I am looking to build long term working relationships with good designers.

Design inspiration:

Designs are to be screen printed and therefore design should be a maximum of 2 or 3 colours.

Buzzwords around the brand are; beach lifestyle, community, watersports, surf, nature, tree, camper van, nomad, happy, free, escaping the rat race, travel, active, outdoors.

File formats suitable for screen printing: JPEG, TIFF, PDF, PSD (Photoshop), AI (Illustrator), EPS.

• A watersports/outdoor enthusiast; activities such as swimming, surfing, kayaking, wakeboarding and windsurfing.
• Directly affected by environmental concerns
• Living in the UK

Requirements

Must have

• I like the idea of images converted into simple line drawings. See examples attached. Perhaps you could consider some of the following ideas:
  
  A surfer in a barrel
  A surfer on the nose of his board
  A surf car or campervan
  Friends watching the surf
  A kayaker
  A surfer ready to enter the waves
  A heart drawn in the sand on the beach
  

Should not have

• Do not write Fins on the design. I am not looking for a logo.
